Thursday, June 19th, Use it Up

I went to a food bank this morning. There are three food banks I'm trying to go to this summer. One is a 'pick what you want yourself' type and two are drive thru food banks. Today was one of the drive thrus. The first one is called Loaves and Fishes, the other two are from local churches. I try to go to Loaves early in the month when food stamps come in because it's less crowded. During the school year I work from 5:30am to 12:30 pm, and I can only go to Loaves at that time.

Here is what I got:

1 gallon milk (looks like pudding in my future)

2 loaves of bread (one in the fridge, one in the freezer. Yes, I know you are not supposed to store bread in the fridge, but I live in Oklahoma. The bread molds.)

Chicken patties or chicken fried steaks

A bag of fresh peaches (fresh fruit in my future)

assorted cans: rotel, tomato soup, chicken noodle soup, pinto beans, spinach, creamed corn, peaches

Snacks: 2 snack size bags of potato chips, snack size bag of pretzels, 6 snack size bags of raisins, 6 packs of peanut butter

Elbow macaroni and a box of mac and cheese

box of crackers

family size box of Froot Loops

pepperage farm stuffing mix (this will go good when I cook the turkey breast in the freezer)

a bag of dried cherries, bag of rice, bag of dried beans
